Set up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1892, the Hamilton Watch Company became widely known for their production of their Broadway Limited pocket watches, which came to be called "The Watch of Railroad Accuracy". Hamilton watches later turned into the supplier of watches to the U.S. Armed Forces in the early 1900's, and in the 1920's the Piping Rock and Yankee watch introduced by Hamilton solidified their position as one of the states most trendy watch designers.

In the 1940's Hamilton provided all of the army concerned in World War Two with watchs, and even introduced the sea chrono-meter. Their reputation for invention in the sector continued growing with the discovery of the Ventura watch in 1957, which was the 1st battery powered watch, and the arrival of the first digital watch in 1970. Many of these Hamilton classics were re-introduced in the 1980's to satisfy a consumer base that became interested in classic styles and designs.
